Privacy policy

The checker runs entirely in your browser. The parts you pick are written into the page address, so you can bookmark or share a result; they are not sent to us, apart from the analytics event described below. The site has no accounts or comments. Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves it.

The site is hosted on Netlify, which records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and time) for security and capacity under its own privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages and guides people read. It sets cookies in your browser and reports the pages you view, the site that sent you, your device type and an approximate location. When you use the checker it also reports which graphics card, processor, RAM size and drive type you picked, without anything that identifies you, so we know which models to cover. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland start with analytics cookies switched off, so Google receives only cookieless signals without identifiers. You can block Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure them. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com. Once ads are switched on, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will see a consent dialog before any personalised ads load.

Links to Amazon are affiliate links; the disclosure is in the footer of every page. When you follow one, Amazon sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored in the page code and appear only next to graphics cards on the card pages and the upgrade guide.

When you send a message through the contact form, your name, email and message go to Netlify Forms, which stores them for us and checks them for spam with Akismet. We use your email only to reply to you.
