Laptop processor
Is the Core i7-11800H enough for GTA 6?
Compared with the PS5, the Core i7-11800H is above it: it scores 162 where the PS5's processor, sold on PC as the AMD 4700S, scores 100. That is 147 % of the PS5 Pro, 157 % of the Xbox Series X, 167 % of the Xbox Series S. It has 8 cores, 16 threads; the PS5 has 8 cores and 16 threads at up to 3.5 GHz. The figure is our estimate from Notebookcheck's Geekbench 6 averages, single-core and multi-core weighed equally. That clears the 30 % lead we ask for before calling a part above the console.
The processor matters a lot in GTA 6. Digital Foundry expects the game to be limited by the processor on consoles, which is why the PS5 Pro, with a stronger GPU but much the same processor, is not expected to reach 60 fps. On PC, Digital Foundry expects 60 fps to need a high-end processor, such as a recent Ryzen X3D. The checker therefore rates your PC by the weaker of its graphics card and processor.

For scale
For scale, Red Dead Redemption 2 recommended an Intel Core i7-4770K or an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X on PC, and GTA V Enhanced an Intel Core i5-9600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600. One step down in our list is the Ryzen 7 6800H, at 159, and one step up is the Ryzen 7 7735HS, at 164.
What changes when Rockstar publishes PC specs
Rockstar has published no PC requirements. GamesBeat reports a PC release in Q1 2027. When the official minimum and recommended specs appear, this page will compare the Core i7-11800H with them directly and move the console comparison below. After the release, measured frame rates from named benchmarks replace any guess: we will not estimate one for this processor.
Core i7-11800H and GTA 6: questions
Is the Core i7-11800H good enough for GTA 6?
It is above the PS5: 162 against the PS5 processor's 100. Rockstar has published no PC requirements, so this is a comparison with the console, not a promise of a frame rate.
Will the Core i7-11800H bottleneck my graphics card in GTA 6?
It sets the ceiling if it rates lower than your card: the checker takes the weaker of the two. Above the PS5 means it is unlikely to be the part that holds a console-class PC back.
How many cores does GTA 6 need?
Rockstar has not said. The PS5 has 8 cores and 16 threads, and GTA V Enhanced recommends an Intel Core i5-9600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600. The Core i7-11800H has 8 cores, 16 threads.
